The Schenectady man found guilty of orchestrating a murder-for-hire in 2016 was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday in Schenectady County Court.
Tarchand Lall will spend the rest of his life behind bars for the murder of Chuck Demobrosky.
Schenectady County District Attorney Robert Carney says he will always remember Tarchand Lall as a cold and calculated killer.
“The things that I will remember about this case will be number one, how cold it was. Cold to the point of frigidity,” said DA Carney. “Chuck Dembrosky, ostensibly a friend and somebody who worked for him, was a commodity for him to use for money.”
Lall hired two men to murder his friend and co-worker,Charles Dembrosky in 2016, just weeks after Lall had been named the beneficiary of Dembrosky’s life insurance policy.
“He convinced Chuck Dombrowsky to allow Lall to have a life insurance policy on his life,” said Carney. “Arguing that ‘if anything were to ever happen to you, I’ll be there to take care of your family’ and that sort of thing.”
Lall was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
