Dozens of Albany residents came to Monday nights Common Council meeting with issues on the regulations for new development proposals. Speakers were not happy with the city’s Unified Sustainable Development Ordinance (USDO) that regulates building construction.
Residents claim the USDO isn’t protecting their property values and infrastructure. One council member said exceptions are being made for developers.
Residents and a council member not a part of the planning board said residents have no voice with what goes into their communities due to the USDO.
After Monday’s meeting the planning board will be looking at and applying changes to the USDO thought it’s not clear when those change will take affect.
