Remembrance service for New Zealand victims

At the Islamic Center of the Capital District, people of all faiths gathered to show support for the Muslim community.

This comes after the tragedy in New Zealand, where a gunman opened fire in 2 mosques killing 50 people and wounding several others on Friday.

“We are thankful for having good support, and we are proud of our interfaith friends who are here to help us,” said Humere Khan, coordinator for interfaith activities.

Islamic centers in the Capital Region will have heightened security, especially during the month of Ramadan.
