‘Ray of Hope’: Woman creates bears from personal items of loved ones

Stitch by stitch, Mary Kirsten sews hope into each teddy bear that she creates.

Her goal? To help people during the mourning process, like her bear helped her.

After her husband passed away in 2013, she used one of his favorite shirts to create a teddy bear. It’s been her support system every since.

Mary doesn’t advertise her ‘Ray of Hope’ business and a portion of each purchase goes to cancer research. She also uses the money to make bears for families who have lost children, military families, charity and more. She balances this while also working two other jobs.
