HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A puppy is safe after a water rescue in Hoosick Falls Friday afternoon.

Multiple fire departments were called in to rescue the dog.

The crews placed a ladder over a cement wall where two firefighters in life jackets climbed down onto the river bank. After carefully watching their steps, one of the firefighters was able to scoop the puppy out of the water.

A rescue basket was lowered over the wall. The dog was then placed inside of it and lifted up to safety.

The puppy was returned to its owners and appeared to be unharmed.
