The New York Governor’s Office is proposing a measure to improve access to In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and other fertility preservation services.
The proposal would require large group insurance providers cover IVF services and require large group, small group, and individual insurance providers to cover egg-freezing services for women with certain health conditions.
The legislation also includes non-discrimination language to ensure New Yorkers have access to these services regardless of martial status, age, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity.
