TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Troy police are investigating after a teenager was shot in the chest and arm.
The shooting took place Monday night in the area of 140 6th Ave. between 102nd and 103rd Street.
Police are calling the incident a drive-by shooting. They said two teenagers were walking when two rounds were fired from a dark colored sedan. Both rounds struck a 17-year-old male. One hit his chest, and the other struck him in the arm.
His friend said they ran into an alley after the shots were fired.
It remained an active scene late Monday night while police searched for evidence as well as a suspect. The teens do not believe they know the driver.
The victim was taken to Albany Medical Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
