NYSP, SWAT standoff in Rensselaer County ends with one in custody


SCHODACK, N.Y. (NEWS10) — New York State Police say they have one person in custody after a standoff in the Town of Schodack in Rensselaer County that lasted for more than 12 hours.

NYSP say the standoff at a home on Route 7 in Schodack started prior to dinnertime Wednesday and continued through the night. It’s not yet clear why police were initially called to the home. Members of the NYSP SWAT team could be seen responding to the situation.

Police are reopening a portion of Route 7 near Rosecrans Avenue.
