Police searching for Cohoes park vandals

COHOES, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Cohoes Police Department is searching for whoever vandalized a popular local park.

Cohoes Mayor Shawn Morse tells NEWS10 that areas of Berkley Park, Lansing Park and Holy Trinity Parish Center were ripped up by a vehicle sometime between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday.

"It's these types of crimes that drive your crazy," said Mayor Morse. "You work tirelessly to try to rebuild your community and in 5 minutes somebody can destroy a year's worth of work."

Mayor Morse said this is an area where many of the city's sporting programs take place.

Police are looking for a 90s model white or gray color Jeep Grand Cherokee.

They are asking anyone with cameras in the area to give them a call.
