Police: Man passed out from drugs left child in stroller out in the rain

The Albany Police Department arrested a man they passed out from drugs with his 1-year-old child nearby.

The incident happened on the 600 block of Third Street at around 8:15 p.m. on Monday.

Police say Andrew Dominski, 40, was passed out on the steps in the back of his residence by an unknown drug. The child was sitting nearby in the stroller in the rain.

The baby was transported to Albany Medical Center for evaluation and was later turned over to a guardian.

Dominski, who was conscious but groggy, refused any medical attention.

Police say evidence was consistent with heroin use but it’s unknown what he was under the influence of.

Dominski was charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arraigned and remanded to Albany County Jail.
