ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A man is in custody after taking police on a high speed chase through Albany.
It all started around 10 a.m. Thursday when detectives tried to stop a parolee in the area of 4th Ave and Broad Street.
That’s when the driver is accused of speeding off, heading toward 787.
Because of his erratic operation, police say they stopped the pursuit.
The driver ended up crashing his car near Dove and Orange and fled into a nearby building.
Police located the man, who witnesses said was armed with a gun, a short time later and took him into custody.
Police are still waiting on a search warrant to look for any weapons he may have left behind.
