The Colonie Police Department is investigating a stabbing at the JJ Rafferty’s Bar and Grill Saturday morning.

Police say they were called to the bar around 1:30 a.m. for a fight that was in progress. Prior to the arrival of officers, the male suspect fled the scene.

The 22-year-old male victim, who received stab wounds to his torso, was treated at Albany Medical Center and is recovering.

Police say the victim and suspect did not know each other but were part of groups of people who became involved in a physical dispute. 

Police have identified a possible suspect and are working to locate him.
