The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a serious crash on Route 23 in Claverack on Friday.
The crash happened at around 7:45 a.m.
Police say a 17-year-old girl was trying to turn around and pulled into the path of an oncoming driver. The 17-year-old’s car then flipped over onto the side of the road.
The teen had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was transported to Albany Medical Center where she remains in critical condition. No other passengers were in the vehicle.
The other driver was treated and released from the hospital.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
