The Saratoga Springs Police Department is investigating a string of vehicle break-ins on Monday afternoon at the YMCA on West Avenue.

Police were called to the YMCA Monday afternoon for two reported thefts from parked cars. A window on each vehicle had been smashed in and a purse stolen from inside.

Officials are looking for a black Toyota Avalon seen in surveillance photos from the scene in connection with the break-ins.

Authorities warn that this was likely not an isolated incident, similar incidents took place at the YMCA in the Town of Wilton, and a daycare in Saratoga during a two-hour window Monday. Police say this type of activity is typical of a group known as the “Felony Lane Gang”, which has been known to be active in the Capital District from time to time.

Anyone with information regarding the break-ins should contact the Saratoga Springs Police Department at 518-584-1800.
