According to Police Chief Eric Clifford, officers have created a new task force to decrease crime in the Mont Pleasant neighborhood with Crane Street being the main focus.

The task force would be a joint effort between the sheriff’s department, city police, and a few others that are hoping to get more involved.

Business owners are hoping this initiative will make a difference.
