A Charlton man has been arrested after police say he made a series of disturbing posts on Snapchat threatening the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School district.

Investigator Matthew Robinson says the Saratoga County Sheriff Office was contacted by several people on Sunday, April 8, concerned that they, or their children, had seen disturbing posts on social media referencing the BH-BL Central School District.

Officials say the threats were posted by 20-year-old Joseph Rossi, of Charlton, NY. In a post on the district website regarding the incident, the BH-BL CSD said the suspect was a class of 2016 graduate of the BH-BL CSD.

Rossi was located at his home in Charlton and arrested following an investigation and charged with making a terroristic threat, a felony.

Rossi was arraigned in Milton Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail.

In a statement, the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School district described its work to keep its students safe.

Yesterday afternoon, district officials became aware of a series of non-specific online threats made against the district by a former BH-BL student (2016 graduate). The situation was closely monitored and investigated by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department and the NYS Police who arrested the individual overnight. The safety and security of our students and staff is our highest responsibility, and we will continue to be diligent with our security procedures.
