Police arrest pair after dog found semi-conscious in plastic bag

BETHLEHEM, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The Bethlehem Police Department arrested two people following an animal cruelty investigation.

Police say they began an investigation after a semi-conscious dog was found in a plastic bag in Selkirk. The dog was immediately taken to a veterinary clinic where it passed away.

The dog, according to police, was found to be severely malnourished and lacked regular veterinary care.

Desirae Fantroy, 25, and Ta-Von McCall, 28, were charged with one count of aggravated cruelty to animals and one count of failure to provide proper sustenance. 

Both were issued appearance tickets to appear in court next week.
