Pair accused of grand larceny arrested in Saratoga

The Saratoga Police Department arrested two people they say possessed stolen property.

Police say in December 2018, Steven Crystal, 64, of Saratoga Springs, took possession of a vehicle belonging to a family member without the legal authority to do so.

Crystal is also accused of taking personal checks belonging to the same family member and stole more than $4,500 from the person’s checking account.

Donna Tozzi, 58, of Brielle, N.J., is accused of trying to cash one of these checks for more than $4,000.

Police say when the pair was taken into custody, they were in possession of the stolen automobile.

The case is under investigation and additional charges may be filed.

Crystal is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, fourth-degree grand larceny exceeds $100 & MV, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and third-degree grand larceny.

Tozzi was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and fourth-degree attempted grand larceny exceeds $1,000.

Both were arraigned and released.
