Albany Police have arrested a 25-year-old Albany man they say shot three people early Saturday morning outside Club Phoenix, a bar on Central Avenue in Albany.

Police say 25-year-old Shaquille Owens fired several rounds from a handgun at another man, 42-year-old Joseph Davis, outside Club Phoenix at 348 Central Avenue around 12:35 a.m. Saturday.

Davis later died from his injuries.

Two other people, a 21-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man, were also hit by the gunfire, the woman in the leg and the man in the torso. Each was hit by a single shot each.

Police found both the female and older male victim at the scene, where both received treatment and were transported to Albany Medical Center. The younger male victim walked himself into the emergency room at Albany Medical Center shortly afterwards.

The female and younger male victims have both been treated and released from Albany Medical Center, but police say the older male victim remains in critical, but stable condition.

Albany Police have arrested 25-year-old Shaquille Owens in connection with the shooting. He was picked up by police on the street shortly after the shooting. He was arraigned Saturday morning in Albany City Criminal Court on charges of second-degree attempted murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies.

Police say the shooting was isolated, and was not random.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Albany Police Detective Division at 518-462-8039.
