BURNT HILLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) — One person has died and one has been seriously injured after a car vs. pedestrian accident in Ballston. The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office said the crash took place on Tuesday around 1:25 p.m. on Hop City Road.

After an investigation, police found that a 2019 Honda Civic was traveling southbound when it crossed into the other lane, striking two pedestrians. One was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was flown by helicopter to Albany Medical Center for serious injuries.

Police said the names of those involved are not being released at this time. Hop City Road is currently closed between Devil’s Lane and Root Road while the Sheriff’s Collision Reconstruction Unit investigates the crash.

This is still an active investigation. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Community EMS, Ballston Lake EMS, Burnt Hills Fire Department, Ballston Spa Fire Department, and Life Net.
