Officials investigating human remains found

STUYVESANT, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Columbia County Sheriff's Office tells News10 that human remains have been located at 1590 9J in Stuyvesant, and that they've likely been there for a while.

Sheriff David Bartlet says the remains were unearthed by excavators working on building a new house. He says they were found between five and ten feet underground.

The sheriff says he's contacted pathologists and anthropologists to help with the investigation, adding the remains could've been there for hundreds of years or two years, he's just not sure.
