NXIVM leaders running low on money

Local

NXIVM leaders appear to be running low on money.

A judge told members of the group during a federal court appearance on Monday that the trust fund set up to fund their defense attorneys is 75 percent depleted.

The trust was established by Seagram’s Heiress Clare Bronfman.

Prosecutors are now questioning whether it was set up in order to give Bronfman control over fellow members of the group.

The trial for leader Keith Raniere and other high-ranking members is scheduled for April.
