The Colonie Police Department says it is not pursuing charges against Cohoes Mayor Shawn Morse following an alleged domestic abuse incident at Denny’s on Wolf Road in September 2018.
Police say a thorough investigation was unable to confirm the allegations made by Shawn’s wife Brenda and found some inconsistencies in her story.
No charges will be filed against either party regarding the alleged incident.
Police say the duration of the investigation was lengthened by the failure of Brenda to respond to numerous requests to contact the investigator over the past several months by telephone, email, and third-party requests.
If new information or evidence comes to light, police say the investigation can be reopened.
