National Grid crews relocating osprey nests

Local

If you see a bunch of National Grid employees out in the North Country today, don’t worry. They’re just relocating some osprey nests, and it is all in an effort to reduce potential outages.

Those efforts will begin at nine this morning at the South Bay Boat Launch in Whitehall. The nests will be kept intact and moved from the power lines to nearby platforms. They will be doing this at various locations in the Hague, Port Henry, and Whitehall areas until two this afternoon.

Temporary generators will be running during these operations to make sure that customers do not experience any outages.
