GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Measles cases continue to rise in the U.S., and doctors in New York State are urging people to get vaccinated.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 555 cases were reported in 20 states. Out of that 20, New York had a significant amount of cases.
Many of the cases originated with travelers coming from different countries, and people who failed to get vaccinated.
While symptoms don’t appear until 10 to 14 days after exposure, someone exposed could be contagious before the rash appears.
