Man sentenced in fentanyl overdose death

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The man who sold fentanyl to a woman who later died has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Daniel Fillerup, 33, admitted that on September 29, 2016, he sold the female victim two bags of heroin.

When the victim ingested the substance that Fillerup gave her, she died due to fentanyl intoxication.

Following his prison term, he will also serve three years of supervised release.
