A local man pleaded guilty to causing serious injuries to his 2-month-old son on Monday.
In court, Tristan Tinney, 22, of Rotterdam, admitted to causing serious physical injury to his son by shaking him, or by slamming or throwing the child on his head on a hard surface or object.
The injuries were discovered after the child’s mother and grandmother brought the child to the hospital.
Initially, police say Tinney told officers that injuries were from an accident that happened while the child was in his care.
He is expected to face six years in prison and three years probation of post-release supervision when he sentenced in March. As part of the plea agreement, there is a 14-year full stay away order of protection issued on behalf of the victim.
