Man found guilty of kidnapping, rape in Albany


A local man has been found guilty of rape and kidnapping after he abducted an unconscious woman.

The incident happened on November 6th of last year.

Abdul Trowell abducted a female who was unconscious in a vehicle near Eagle Street in Albany.

He brought the woman to “his” home on Eagle Street. At some point, the woman’s male friend came into the home trying to save her.

Trowell threatened him with a knife and then proceeded to have sex with the woman while she was physically helpless.

He faces 50 years in prison when he is sentenced in December.
