Man accused of stealing from patients recovering at Albany hospitals

The Albany Police Department arrested a man they say stole money from patients recovering at Albany Medical Center and St. Peter’s Hospital.

Anthony Morris, 56, was arrested and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, third-degree burglary, and petit larceny following an investigating by the department.

Morris is accused of entering a patient’s room at Albany Medical Center on Wednesday between 12 a.m. and 2 a.m. and taking cash from a patient’s coat.

Police say Morris was charged in connection with an incident that occurred on April 4, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital. During this incident, he’s accused of going into a patient’s room and stealing cash from the patient’s purse.

Morris was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court.

The Albany Police Department is asking anyone who witnessed Morris in their room while admitted at an Albany hospital to contact them at (518)-462-8039.
