New York State Police arrested Rensselaerville Town Supervisor Steven Pleging on grand larceny, official misconduct and falsifying business records charges.

Police say Pfleging, 43, wrote checks amounting to approximately $13,000 from the town’s checking account to himself.

An investigation began after the town’s finances were reviewed by an independent accounting firm and the discovery of missing funds was made.

He was arraigned and released. He’s due back in court next week.
