LOS ANGELES (NEWS10) — A local high school teacher will continue to compete on Jeopardy! after winning the quarterfinal round of the Teachers Tournament.

Conor Quinn competed on the game show on Thursday.

The Troy Prep High School teacher entered the final round tied with one of his opponents, but he was the only contestant to answer correctly.

The World History teacher won over $17,000 in the round. He will now go on to compete in the semifinals, which will air on NEWS10 ABC next week.

During the Teachers Tournament, 15 educators compete for the $100,000 grand prize and a spot in the next Tournament of Champions.
