Local business raising funds for family of fallen trooper

NORTHVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) - For 22 years Fred Ludwig has been making t-shirts.  But this one is special.  A fallen hero's name and memory lives on.

“When they want something done we snap into action for them,” said Ludwig.

Fred and his wife Angela snapped into action for the community, like they've done several times over the years.

Their business, Clear Image New York, raises money for the families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

Trooper Jeremy VanNostrand was killed turning into the state police barracks in Fonda a week and a half ago.

“We like to help out the people that protect and serve us on a daily basis and this is our way of taking a t-shirt and turning it into a memory and a memorial for someone who has passed away,” said Angela Ludwig.

The ink still as fresh as the pain of the tragic loss for the trooper’s family.

“We hope this is going to be successful seeing as he leaves behind a little girl and a wife,” said Ludwig.

So far they've sold more than a 100 t-shirts and dozens of engraved travel mugs.  All the proceeds will go to the family.
