Local business owner facing grand larceny charges

The owner of a local tech business has been arrested after police say he collected money for a job he never did.

Johnny Bryant, 43, of Troy, is accused of failing to perform website upgrades to the victim’s business website.

The victim paid Bryant $1,852 and police say he refused to return the money after being asked to do so by the victim.

Bryant, who is the owner of Green Click Innovations, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny. He is due back in court later this month.

On Monday, Bryant was arrested by the South Glens Falls Police Department after they say he took more than $2,000 from two village businesses by promising website work.

Police say in this instance, he failed to do any of the work and never refunded the money after repeated requests to do so.

He was charged with one count of fourth-degree larceny – property greater than $1,000, first-degree scheme to defraud – more than $1,000 from one or more persons, and petit larceny.

The alleged incident took place in January and continued until March 2018.

Police say the Sheriff’s Office is aware of several businesses having contact with Bryant. Those business owners are asked to contact police at (518)-743-2500.
