The Johnstown Athletic Department met Tuesday afternoon with coaches and boosters clubs in an effort to preserve sports for next year.

This meeting happening just hours before the spring sports athletic awards for the high school.

Last month, voters turned down a budget proposal which included a 35% tax levy increase.

Sports, certain electives and other extracurricular activities were cut as a result of the no-vote.

Residents will vote on June 18th on a 14.6% tax levy increase, which only requires a majority vote, rather than a 60% supermajority like the previous vote.
