An investigation is underway after someone was hit by an Amtrak train in Stockport Tuesday morning.
Amtrak says its Adirondack train 69 was traveling from New York City when it struck someone trespassing on the tracks.
New York State Police say they found a dead man near the Stockport trestle at around 11 a.m.
No one on the train was injured.
The cause of death is still under investigation.
Amtrak is reminding the public to be cautious when approaching and crossing railroad tracks. Each year, Amtrak says about 2,000 people are killed or injured when crossing or trespassing on railroad tracks nationwide.
