Hundreds volunteer to pack ‘comfort bags’ for victims of sexual assault


ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Hundreds of staff from the University at Albany and Albany Medical Center, along with members of law enforcement and the community, packed 700 comfort bags” Thursday for victims of sexual assault. 

The bags contained clothing, toiletries, gift cards, teddy bears and an encouraging note from a member of the community. 

The organizations received double the amount of donations as they did in 2018. 

A victim of sexual assault and past recipient of one of the bags spoke at the event saying it helped her immensely get through one of the most traumatic experiences of her life.
