Humane society rescues nearly a dozen cats from abandoned home

The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society rescued nearly a dozen cats from a home on Judson Street in Albany on Tuesday. This, as the Albany Police Department removed the man who appeared to be living there.

Neighbors tell NEWS10 ABC, the man possibly has mental health issues, and the Humane Society says that’s not uncommon in situations like this.

County lawmakers say there are services for people with mental health issues, but they also point to the hoards of dangerous abandoned buildings in the area as part of the problem.
