Guilderland PD searching for suspect in armed robbery

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) - A Guilderland gas station was robbed at gunpoint Friday night.

At around 11 p.m., the Guilderland Police Department responded to the Mobil Gas Station at 3605 Carman Rd.

The suspect entered the gas station displaying a black handgun and proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

He then fled the area on foot headed west on Carman Rd.

The clerk was not injured.

The suspect is described as a black male about 5 feet 5 inches tall, wearing a red sweatshirt, blue jeans, gray and white sneakers, and a blue bandana on his face.

Guilderland Police Department and K-9 unit searched the area with the assistance of the Rotterdam Police Department and the Schenectady County Sheriff's Office with negative results.

The suspect is unknown at this time. This is an active on-going investigation.
