FOUND: 82-year-old Colonie man with dementia found safe

UPDATE: 82-year-old James Cordell has been found safe in Queens, NY. Police say Cordell is doing alright and his family is on their way to pick him up. 


COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) Police in Colonie are asking for help from the public finding an 82-year-old vulnerable adult with dementia.

James Cordell was last seen on Sharon Drive in the Town of Colonie at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Cordell was driving a 2013 gray Nissan Rogue with New York registration CDW-1476. Police believe he may have been in the Schenectady area around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Cordell has dementia and may be in need of medical attention. He is described as white, 5’10” tall, 260 pounds with gray hair and hazel eyes.

Anyone with information regarding Cordell’s location should call the Colonie Town Police Department at 518-783-2811 or 911.
