Fort Plain mayor arrested for DWI

Another local public official is facing DWI charges.

Fort Plain Mayor Thomas Quackenbush was arrested by Guilderland Police around 5 p.m. New Year’s Eve after a crash on Western Ave. Police say he blew above a 0.18.

Police say both drivers received minor facial injuries and refused treatment.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with 0.08 or more BAC, aggravated driving while intoxicated 0.18 or more BAC, and refusal to take a breath test (pre-screen device). 

Quackenbush also works for Teamsters Local 294.

He is due in court later this month.
