Former Cuomo aide disbarred after conviction

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – One-time top aide to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo Joseph Percoco has been disbarred after his conviction.

Percoco began his six-year federal prison sentence last month.

He was convicted of bribery and fraud in the Buffalo Bid rigging scheme, taking $300,000 from companies who did business with the state.

On Thursday, the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division ordered his name stricken from the roll of attorneys.

It is a state law that any attorney convicted of a felony be disbarred.
