UTICA, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A former Albany police officer involved in an alleged prostitution incident appeared in court Tuesday.
Christopher Kitto pleaded guilty to driving while ability impaired by alcohol.
This stems from an incident earlier this year where Kitto shot and killed a man in Utica who tried to rob him while he was meeting up with a prostitute.
Kitto was cleared of any murder charges after a judge called it self defense.
Kitto resigned from the Albany Police force on Monday.
He’s still charged with soliciting prostitution for which he has pleaded not guilty.
