FBI: Cyber tips led to arrest of Schaghticoke man on child porn charges

Local

A Schaghticoke man and member of the Church of Satan is facing child pornography charges.

A criminal complaint filed in Federal Court reads that the case began when the Center for Missing and Exploited Children started receiving cyber tips from several social media applications concerning possible child porn.

Those tips lead authorities to a phone number and IP address which they claim belonged to Jake Cruse. The document reads that several sexually explicit images and videos of young boys where uploaded by Cruse’s electronic devices.

After a search of his Schaghticoke home by FBI agents on Wednesday, Cruse was taken in handcuffs to the Federal Courthouse in Albany where he was arraigned in front of a judge who remanded him to jail. Cruse has a detention hearing scheduled for Thursday.

Police are now looking into Cruse’s background and any contact he may have had with children. On his Facebook page, he claims to be an artist, a “free thinker” and also a member of the Official Church of Satan.
