Esports tournament coming to the Capital Region

It’s a brave new world for collegiate sports and now you can add video games to the competition.

The Albany Capital Center announced on Wednesday a new collegiate Esports conference that is coming to the Capital Region. 

Believe it or not, Esports is a multi-billion industry and leaders in the Capital Region want to take advantage of this growing sport.

Participating ECAC Esports members, who will be competing for a championship title at HV Gamer Con 2019 at the Albany Capital Center currently include, Canisius College, DeSales University, Drew University, Keuka College, Mansfield University, Marist College, Morazian College, Neumann University, Quinnipiac University, Sacred Heart University, Saint Peter’s University, Siena College, Stevenson University, Stockton University, SUNY Canton and Texas Wesleyan University.

The event will be held on March 20-21, 2019 at the ACC. All-session tickets cost $40 for adults and $20 for students. Individual tickets will be $25 for adults and $15 for students.
