Early morning apartment fire on North Ferry St. in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Crews from the Schenectady Fire Department responded to a fire at an apartment building on North Ferry Street early Monday morning.

The fire began around 3:00 a.m. at an apartment building housing three different tenants. Schenectady Fire officials say the fire started on the first floor in a kitchen. The resident of the apartment was not home at the time of the fire. 

The fire was quickly knocked down, but crews remained on the scene later into the morning waiting for National Grid to arrive and restore power to the building.
