State police responded Friday morning to a car crash on Moe Road in Clifton Park involving a Shenendehowa school bus, the third school bus accident in the Capital Region this week.
Dashboard cam footage from bus #671 shows a driver taking a quick turn onto Moe Road and missing the mark, hitting the bus head on.
Luckily, all the students were ok and neither driver was seriously injured, though the school bus driver did sustain a minor injury to her hand.
This is not the first time the Shen transportation director Alfred Karem has seen an incident like this one
“This accident does not surprise me. I see people trying to beat green lights and they end up going through a red light,” said Karem. “A lot of these things that occur hundreds of thousands of times during the day in our community will lead to an accident.”
Karem wants to remind the community to always be cautious and alert around buses. After all, he says, they’re carrying precious cargo.
‘We do transport our most precious cargo which is the future of our country, the future of our community,” said Karem.
