Crews battle afternoon fire in Delmar

Local

DELMAR, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Crews were on scene of a fire in Delmar Tuesday afternoon.

A fire broke out shortly after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at a home on Vadney Road.

Heavy smoke could be seen coming from the structure, and crews had difficulty battling the blaze due to heavy winds and the advanced stage of the fire once first responders got to the scene.

No one was home at the time of the fire, but four people have been displaced.

The fire does not appear to be suspicious, according to officials.

Seven fire companies were called to help put out the blaze, and no injuries were reported.
