Couple opens Scotia coffee shop with help from community

SCOTIA, N.Y. (NEWS10) - For the community, by the community.. that was the idea behind Storied Coffee in downtown Scotia.

Owners Rich and Christine Sarnacki wanted to create a space where locals could enjoy good locally-sourced coffee and share stories.

To make the dream a reality, they went to Kickstarter and with the community's help they surpassed their goal.

Now open for almost two months, they are hiring more employees to meet demand.

Each month they feature a different local business in their "Curated Corner." This month is: Peony & Bee by Kate Eggleston, a Cohoes native who creates handmade home goods inspired by nature. This Friday, April 19th from 6-8 PM she's kicking off her month with a little event at the shop.
