SOUTH GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Common Roots Brewery is still rebuilding from a fire that destroyed their brewery. That has not stopped them from giving back to the community.
Dozens came out to kick off the 10th annual Glens Falls Brewfest, aiming to raise another $20,000 this year to be divided amongst two charities.
“The whole community is excited not only that it’s Brewfest weekend, but Common Roots is going to be there and be prominently featured,” said Brewfest organizer Chris Reed.
Friday night, the father son duo made their first appearance since their brewery burned down last month. Since the fire, more than $30,000 has been donated by community members to help them and their employees rebuild.
“Common Roots is built on community and we can really say it was rebuilt on community, and it’s been one of the most humbling experiences,” said Common Roots Co-owner Christain Weber.
Though Brewfest is highlighting the business, the co-owners want this weekend to be about the community.
