Charity fashion show benefits cancer patients


SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The annual Runway to a Cure fundraiser was held on Thursday.

NEWS10 ABC anchor Lydia Kulbida emceed the event and walked in the fashion show to benefit the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.

More than 30 models rocked the runway at the Canfield Casino. Some work with cancer patients, and some have family members who have been touched by cancer.

The biggest applause of the night came for the cancer survivors who beat the disease.

In the first three years, more than $200,000 was raised to help patients and their families fighting blood cancers. Thursday’s fundraiser brought in more than $116,000 for two of the current candidates for Man and Woman of the Year.
